A new family bubble: Baby Autumn – Family lifestyle.

A couple of weeks ago I was invited into the home of the lovely ‘Griffiths’ family. Mum Lucy and dad Russ, had just welcomed beautiful little bebe Autumn into the world and wanted some memories capturing. It was a joy to photograph this family and big brother George did amazing well in front of the camera. Its always so nice being around these little babies, they’re usually very quiet and relaxed, I leave a session feeling so calm. Thanks for having me Griffiths family.

Last session of 2017, The Corner family. – Family session.

On a VERY cold wintry day, just two days before Christmas, I met the lovely Corner family in Moor Park in Preston. Jenna was the winner of my Christmas competition over on the Facebook page and she genuinely was so happy to have won! I absolutely loved this session – I know I say this all the time, but I just get so invested! ha ha- Anyway, the whole clan were just a dream to shoot, the teenagers didn’t get too bored, the toddlers kept their focus. It really was the perfect way to end 2017!

Roman’s Christening. – Family lifestyle

Back at the beginning of December, I shot my very first Christening. Little Roman was so well behaved on his very special day and it was so lovely to revolve a session around family at one of their get togethers. Tia was I think the most relaxed person I’ve ever had a session with, when asked by me about any specific images she wants capturing her reply was “Oh you just what you usually do, I trust you.” Which I think was just what every photographer wants to hear. It really was such a wonderful ceremony to be a part of.

A Wintery trip to Brockholes – Family session.

Way back in November, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the White Family. Both Gemma and Greg wanted some lovey photos of their little family, but most importantly they wanted a family portrait so they could send them out as Christmas presents. From the get go, this family were just so perfect to shoot! Both boys played happily, the whole thing was just so natural and lovely to be a part of.

I genuinely cant wait to be back shooting this family again!

A very traditional Christmas – Family session.

Last weekend the northwest was treated to the most glorious Snowy Saturday. I managed to get out with the girls early that morning, but I also had a session booked for that afternoon too! Chloe had contacted me months and months ago to get this pre-Christmas session booked in so it was nothing sort of a miracle that when our session day came it was just a winter wonderland outside. She’s chosen the most gorgeous dresses for her girls (Bows and bespoke) and we’d even been extra cautious with a Plan B location at a nearby traditional sweet shop. As you can tell though, absolutely everything went perfectly to plan… Well little Ivy wasn’t best pleased, but we did manage to get some shots of her and big sister Halle completely stole the show anyway!

Baby Blake – a newborn session.

Last weekend, I went to meet Ria & her little newborn bundle Blake. I knew Little Blake would be tiny – he was born prematurely and has only just been allowed home- But picking him up for a snuggle was just incredible, and brought back all those memories of having Mischa first home after her own preemie struggles. Blake was an absolute angel from start to finish, he had a little moan mid-way through, but that was quickly solved by a bit more breakfast and a little snuggle with me. He was soon comfortable again and enjoyed having a look around at what was going on whilst snuggled up to his teddy bear. ADORABLE!

Halloween mini-session day – Family lifestyle.

I have been planning this day for weeks, the last week planning frantically, making sure every little detail has been taken care off. Well, last Saturday it happened, I hosted my first mini-session day and I think I can say, genuinely it was a brilliant success. It was freezing and it rained most of the day, but it didn’t stop the constant stream of excited kids all dressed up and ready to shoot. Honestly, it was just so absolutely brilliant, and I can’t wait to do it again! The day started off with  me going through my supplies, double and triple checking that I had everything packed. My sister/assistant for the day turned up just after half 10 and we set off over to the location. The first thing that needed to happen was a giant clean up, it was just full of crap people had dumped. Anyway, once everything had been tidied up, we set to work creating the back drop and before I knew it our first session group had arrived! We had a couple of minor hiccups through the day, nothing major but pretty much all of them revolved around the smoke bombs! Just when we thought we had it all figured out, the wind would change direction and leave me with a face full of smoke!

Anyway, long story short, I had an absolute blast, and from the feedback I’ve received since, so did everyone who came, which was everything I wanted. Massive thank you to all the children and parents for their efforts on Saturday. I’ll keep you all updated about my next one!

Happy Halloween!

Eliza turns 2 months! – Milestone session.

Month two of this little loves milestone package! It seems like just yesterday I was in taking her newborn photographs. Eliza was a little restless this month, though we did manage to grab some gorgeous shots before she wanted more cuddles of mummy. I’m really going to have to step up my game next month if I’m to get some good shots of her. I’m hoping we get some smiles next time.

Mini madams. – Commercial photography.

Last week I headed over to Parr fold park in Manchester, for a very exciting children wear shoot! Its been something hats been planned for a while now, but after finally settling on a date that would work for everyone, we rallied the troops and created our very own photo shoot in the park. Rebecca (owner of Mini-madams) has a very specific taste, and she had a very specific vibe she wanted from her photographs. In our pre-session meeting, she described her vision of her brand as being like the old weathers original advert. You know the little girl in the old fashioned sweet shop? I absolutely knew what she meant straight away! Mini madams is described as being traditional, not in the over the top sense we’re used to seeing when we read that word, but in a much more simplistic way. The children’s clothes and accessories she sources are so authentic, its very 30’s,  very Shirley Hughes, the lion the witch and the wardrobe. Knee high socks and bonnets. Gorgeous dresses and knitwear. It was an absolute pleasure to help Rebecca bring her vision to life, though I can assure you we’re not done yet.

You can shop Mini madams Here, or head over to her Facebook or Instagram page.

Fiona, Michael & Sebastian – The first family session of Autumn.

With Summer over, its time to move with the seasons into Autumn. For the first of Autumns family seasons, I got to meet up with the lovely Turner family. Fiona, Michael and Sebastian were a joy to photograph, we met in a woodlands local to them – which was actually brilliant because it helped them feel much more comfortable – And little Sebastian wasted no time jumping in those muddy puddles, gathering sticks and roaming through the brambles. It was a really beautiful session to be a part of, and such a wonderful family to watch together. All in all, a brilliant way to start the Autumn off.
