starting a new tradition. – Personal projects.

I’m starting a new tradition. Every birthday, I’m taking portraits of the girls. And this weekend I started with Mischa’s 7th Birthday. Seven whole years since she burst into the world! So early, so poorly. It was two weeks before I’d get to hold her, 12 weeks of living in the Neo unit before we got to bring her home. I see her now and it all feels like a lifetime ago! 7 years of having her with us, 7 years since she made me a mama. I could never ever imagine my life without this beautiful ball of sunshine in it. I still don’t understand how I managed to create such a wonderful human being!

Happy birthday Mischa!

A snowy Saturday – Personal projects.

I like many in the northwest on Saturday morning, woke up to a lovely big blanket of snow covering everything. So of course, we ate breakfast as fast as possible, before getting wrapped up and heading out in it. Snow is really such a fabulous thing to photograph in, yeah its cold, but it creates a great big reflective background, full of natural light. the result is a natural glow, on everything and everything. as someone who really loves natural light, this is one of the best times to get out my camera. Did you manage to get many photos of the snow over this weekend?
